Winterized oil Oil which has been treated in a manner to partially remove the saturated glycerides which have relative high melting points and are soluble only to a limited extent in the unsaturated glycerides. The process consists of chilling the oil slowly and then maintaining it at 5?C (41?F) for a specified period of time and removing the crystallized glycerides from the liquid fraction of the oil by the use of filter presses. Soy oil does not require winterizing unless it has been partially hydrogenated to increase stability. (unspecified)
